Crompton House is our flagship children’s residential service located in the peaceful community of Chelmsford, Essex. Designed with warmth, safety and therapeutic care in mind, our home provides an environment where young people can begin to stabilise, heal and thrive.

Everything about Crompton House reflects our commitment to trauma-informed, relationship-based practice. From the calming interiors to the structured routines and skilled staff team, the centre offers a stable foundation for young people who have experienced significant challenges.

Crompton House is a spacious six-bedroom property, carefully furnished to feel homely, comfortable and emotionally calming. The environment has been intentionally curated to support regulation, privacy, and healthy attachment through predictable routines.

Who We Support

Crompton House is suitable for children and young people aged 8–17 who may be experiencing:

  • Trauma or attachment-related needs

  • Risk-taking or harmful behaviours
  • CSE/CCE concerns
  • Missing-from-home patterns
  • Family crisis or instability
  • Mental health vulnerabilities

We offer solo, high-support, and small-group placements depending on risk level and need.

We provide urgent placements for young people experiencing:

  • Crisis or breakdown of placement
  • Going missing or exploitation concerns
  • Emotional distress or behavioural escalation
  • Hospital or police discharge
  • Social, family or environmental risks
 

Our team responds immediately with:

  • Rapid assessment
  • Immediate risk planning
  • Emergency admission day or night
  • High levels of supervision
  • Child-centred emotional support
