Crompton House is our flagship children’s residential service located in the peaceful community of Chelmsford, Essex. Designed with warmth, safety and therapeutic care in mind, our home provides an environment where young people can begin to stabilise, heal and thrive.
Everything about Crompton House reflects our commitment to trauma-informed, relationship-based practice. From the calming interiors to the structured routines and skilled staff team, the centre offers a stable foundation for young people who have experienced significant challenges.
A Home Designed for Healing, Stability and Growth
Crompton House is a spacious six-bedroom property, carefully furnished to feel homely, comfortable and emotionally calming. The environment has been intentionally curated to support regulation, privacy, and healthy attachment through predictable routines.

Who We Support
Crompton House is suitable for children and young people aged 8–17 who may be experiencing:
- Emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Trauma or attachment-related needs
- Placement breakdown
- Risk-taking or harmful behaviours
- CSE/CCE concerns
- Missing-from-home patterns
- Family crisis or instability
- Mental health vulnerabilities
- Social or environmental risks
We offer solo, high-support, and small-group placements depending on risk level and need.

High Support & Solo Placement Availability
For young people requiring higher levels of support, we offer:
- 1:1 or 2:1 staffing
- Enhanced supervision
- High-risk safety planning
- Intensive therapeutic support
- Calming, private accommodations
These placements are ideal for young people who benefit from stability, reduced stimulation, and consistent adult presence.
Clinical and Safeguarding Oversight
Crompton House is led by a qualified nurse, providing a robust clinical foundation for care planning and risk management.
In addition:
- Our Designated Safeguarding Lead brings 20+ years of social work experience
- Our team works in partnership with CAMHS, health teams, education providers and social workers
- Risk assessments are updated dynamically based on behaviour, presentation and emerging needs

Immediate Support When It Matters Most
We provide urgent placements for young people experiencing:
- Crisis or breakdown of placement
- Going missing or exploitation concerns
- Emotional distress or behavioural escalation
- Hospital or police discharge
- Social, family or environmental risks
Our team responds immediately with:
- Rapid assessment
- Immediate risk planning
- Emergency admission day or night
- High levels of supervision
- Child-centred emotional support
